A California-cool color palette with a Southern spin was the design goal for this home in Brookhaven—a bustling suburb of Atlanta. To bring this dream to life, the homeowners hired designer Maggie Griffin of Maggie Griffin Design who then selected natural fibers, neutral textures, sage green, and plenty of white to create a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. The owners had a few existing pieces they wanted to incorporate into the home, but they mostly gave Griffin carte blanche with the interiors.
While the foyer is decorated with a perfect symmetry that is pleasing to the eye, Griffin also selected wood consoles from England and finished with mirrors and sconces to make the space feel open and airy. The family room doors fold back and open up to the outdoor living areas, which is ideal for enjoying the Atlanta weather and hosting large gatherings. The outdoor furniture was slipcovered for easy maintenance, and the kitchen was clad in custom white cabinetry along with a walnut countertop island and Circa Lighting lanterns.
Perfect for relaxing and taking respite, the bedrooms were intentionally designed with a Zen-like quality. The master is swathed in neutral grasscloth with the upholstered bed in a Belgian linen as the focal point. Luxe, crisp white linens dress the bed, while embroidered draperies cover the windows for softness. Comfortable swivel chairs are tucked into a long reading nook that provides a welcoming space to wind down at the end of the day.
For a growing family who loves to entertain, this home is a serene spot just steps away from the exciting energy of Atlanta city life. The home is also just minutes away from lush green spaces, cultural hot spots, and plenty of restaurants, making it a residence that is sure to be loved for generations to come.
