At the client’s request for a clean and contemporary vacation home with a bit of traditional modern in the mix, Christina Roughan of Roughan Interiors freshened the face of this Palm Beach pied-à-terre. The home’s location in an Art Deco building on the water inspired a monochromatic palette of various shades of blue. The coastal hues transform spaces like the master bed and bath into a soothing yet visually impactful retreat.
Patterned fabrics and textured furnishings weave the accent color throughout the home and leave no corner bare of depth and interest. The custom pillows on the sofas and bedding are made with fabrics by ALT for Living, Holland & Sherry, and Schumacher. Carpets from PFM (Patterson Flynn Martin) complete each room.
Custom lighting by The Urban Electric Co. seamlessly blends the entryway and the kitchen. The design team created a banquette wall, which serves as separation between the kitchen and living room. This addition that improved the flow and functionality of the space, which was high on the homeowner’s list. Along the banquette wall, in the dining room and in the bedroom, is an array of art by Italian artist Antonio Sannino.
