This 5,288-square-foot home was built for Krisitn Rogus and Mike Young, a young couple who splits their time between Palm Beach, New York City, and Nashville. As Kristin loves whimsy and colorful accents and Mike loves the classics, Brad Ramsey of Brad Ramsey Interiors set out to blend the two contrasting aesthetics through a modern, timeless palette. Inspiration was pulled from traditional New York City homes, incorporating a softened metropolitan vibe that still felt true to Nashville.

With the clients’ busy careers in real estate, Ramsey crafted a home office that evoked calm and professionalism. “The grasscloth mural in the office was the launching point for the colors and textures for the rest of the room,” Ramsey says, noting the subtle hints of lavender and blush showcased in the textiles. “The goal was that the room would feel functional and professional when being used for work, but also soft and feminine when used as a sitting room.” Similar energy was carried into the living room as well, where calming minimalism is anchored with an unexpected piece of graffiti art by Dom Pattinson to give the space a contemporary touch.

Playful color begins to creep its way into the home through the laundry room. “We chose to go with Green Trance by Sherwin Williams, as it softens the room and brings a cheery feeling,” says Ramsey. “Laundry rooms can often feel stale, so we wanted to create a happy and inspiring room for the client.”

Color crescendos in the stunning dining room located at the front of the home. With most of the home being neutral, the juxtaposition of this cocoon-like space is a showstopper. Ramsey carefully chose Dark Harbor by Benjamin Moore, saturating the room in this soulful color by incorporating it in the drapery, the dining chairs, and even overhead. “I thought a white ceiling would take away from the jewel box feel of the space and make it feel disjointed,” he says. “Keeping all of the tones in the room the same accentuates the black and white hide rug, dining table, art, and brass accents.”
