In the world of interior design, few names resonate with the same level of sophistication and style as Mallory Mathison Glenn. With a portfolio that effortlessly marries the grandeur of classical design with the dynamic possibilities of contemporary style, Mallory has established herself as an expert in the art of maximal design. Her designs not only celebrate the richness of the past but also embrace the innovative spirit of modern interiors.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Mallory treasures her time spent with her husband, twin sons, and their charming Shih Tzu, Mr. Henry. She has an active family life and is heavily involved in her local community. We caught up with Mallory to get her insider’s guide to Atlanta, including an exclusive itinerary!
Atlanta’s Eclectic Design Landscape
Atlanta’s architectural landscape is a tapestry of styles—from Georgian and Tudor to Mediterranean and Contemporary. Mallory describes the city’s interior design scene as “eclectic, collected, and unique.” She notes, “Atlanta’s style is deeply rooted in tradition, and you still see a lot of classic English and French elements, often with modern touches.” While the city continues to evolve, its interiors remain a dynamic blend of historical charm and contemporary sophistication.
Mallory’s work embodies this fusion of tradition and modernity. Her designs capture the essence of Atlanta’s rich design heritage while embracing contemporary trends, resulting in spaces that are both classic and cutting-edge.
Culinary Delights and Local Favorites
For those exploring Atlanta’s culinary scene, Mallory recommends Anis, a delightful French bistro in Buckhead. “Anis feels like a little French haven in the heart of Buckhead,” she says. The bistro’s charming ambiance and exquisite cuisine make it a favorite spot for a sophisticated dining experience.
When it comes to cocktails, Mallory’s pick is KR Steak Bar in Peachtree Hills. “They have interesting, seasonal cocktails and a lovely outdoor garden,” she explains. The bar’s innovative drinks and inviting atmosphere make it a perfect choice for an evening out.
Mallory enjoys the lively atmosphere of the Hotel St. Regis, especially during the holidays.

For floral arrangements and stylish containers, Mallory loves Le Jardin. “Le Jardin is a beautiful shop for florals and containers,” she enthuses.
Drawing Inspiration from Atlanta and Beyond
Mallory finds inspiration in Atlanta’s vibrant design community, noting that “Atlanta is full of talented interior designers, architects, and landscape designers.” She frequently attends events at ADAC, such as Design ADAC and Discover ADAC, which she describes as “ideal for seeking inspiration.” In addition to local events, Mallory draws inspiration from her travels, historic properties, and decorative arts museums. Don’t miss Southern Home‘s panel at this year’s Discover ADAC.
When sourcing unique décor and furniture, Mallory frequents design micro-neighborhoods such as Miami Circle, Peachtree Hills, Chamblee Antiques Row, and the Westside. “These areas are treasure troves of unique finds,” she says.

Caroline Budd Picture Framing is one of her favorites for exquisite frames, while Summer Loftin Antiques is a go-to for vintage and antique pieces.
For original art, Mallory collaborates with Collie Holt Art Advisory, a resource she describes as “fantastic for navigating and editing all the options.”
Celebrating Local Events
Among Atlanta’s annual events, Cathedral Giving by Design stands out. “This multiday event is a highlight of the design calendar,” Mallory says. Held each January, it features speakers, designer panels, private home tours, and other exclusive experiences.
