The designer spent the next two decades gradually renovating the two-story white clapboard residence via a constant procession of projects large (a family-room expansion and a rebuilt garage with office area) and small (a shiplap-clad bar and a custom gate on the white picket fence) with the help of her friend, Atlanta architect Jack Davis.
Keeping the needs of her family of four in mind, Beth created a year-round house that easily lends itself to both entertaining and daily life. The kitchen is anchored by hand-painted checkerboard-patterned floors and accented by her favorite collection of green-glazed French pottery. The result is a timeless, pleasing backdrop that, come Christmastime, calls for little more than fresh botanicals to accessorize.
