The mother-daughter duo of Tami Owen and Brelan Owen Pearson helm the team at The Owen Group, which has locations in Houston and WaterColor, Florida. They have designed properties from coast to coast and enjoy the challenge of creating spaces in all environments, from city to beach to farm.
Each season, they travel to the Original Round Top Antiques Fair, which occurs every spring, fall, and winter, to source unique furniture, lighting, and other home decor for their clients. With the fall show on the horizon, they’ve shared a few of their favorite Round Top venues, finds, restaurants, and more!
What is your favorite Round Top venue and why?
Brelan – Market Hill or the Arbors. Always something to find plus great vendors with music and drinks!
Tami – My favorite venues are Blue Hills and Market Hill. I love the vendors there and always seem to find the best treasures for my clients.
What’s your favorite hidden gem vendor?
Brelan – More Than Antiques in Northgate… shh!
Tami – Walking up and down the fields of Marburger. I always find something unique!
Favorite Round Top find? Why?
Brelan – Found antique lanterns that were perfect for the Deluca family’s island (pictured above.)
Tami – I have been going to Round Top for 30 years now. So many amazing finds throughout the years but a recent and personal one was finding a vendor that sells sterling silver ornaments that my great aunt used to collect for me while I was growing up. I am now able to collect the ornaments for my daughter and granddaughter.
What makes Round Top so special? Reasons you come again and again?
Brelan – There are always so many familiar and new talented artisans to meet and to source from. There is such a variety of items from all over the world to source the right pieces for our clients.
Tami – I love the open fields and the relaxing and collaborative atmosphere. Such great people to meet with such amazing items to source.
Do you come with a list for clients or let pieces find you?
Brelan – We usually bring plans for clients. We are looking for pieces but most of the time the pieces find us!
Tami – I do come with a list but I always seem to end up with a lot more than we anticipate finding.
Any other must-eat/drink/stay/play favorites in the area?
Brelan – We usually stay at our amazing client’s ranch when we go to town but we always eat at Lulu’s.
Tami – I usually stay at one of our client’s houses or ranches that we have designed. I always end up at the Mexican restaurant in town called, The Original Manditos.
